ABOUT DEANY

Deany Laliotis is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over twenty years of experience in treating individuals, couples and families. In addition to being a therapist, she is a clinical consultant and workshop trainer in EMDR, and is EMDRIA-certified as a Practitioner, Consultant and Instructor. Deany has also presented on EMDR and advanced applications of EMDR at various conferences throughout the country. She has been on the faculty of EMDR Institute, Inc. since 1993.

Deany's areas of clinical expertise include simple and complex traumatic stress responses, anxiety and self-esteem issues. Deany has also been applying EMDR specifically to alleviate performance anxiety by helping people optimize and master their performance at work, athletics and in the performing arts.

Deany's consultation practice includes advanced training and clinical supervision of clinicians throughout the metropolitan region. She meets with clinicians both individually as well as in groups, and consults to group practices on site.

Deany works out of her home office in downtown Bethesda, three blocks from the metro, with her husband, Dan, also a psychotherapist, EMDR trainer and consultant.
